Chimera Vol. 3 in Context // Feb 10, 07:06 PM
Good news! Chimera Vol. 3 team got an honorable mention at AIGA Pittsburgh’s Context show which took place on Feb. 1st at Three Rivers Arts Festival gallery. Congratulations to all, especially Amanda, Jill & Josh.
Thanks to Phil Erion who, due to my inability to attend the event, picked up a catalogue/promo/sketchbook for me and who told me the news. Context is formerly known as Pittsburgh 100 show, marked by the inclusion of 100 design entries. The name has been changed and, apparently, the number of entries has been cut to about 60 this year.
The judges this year were Laurie Churchman (Designlore, University of Pennsylvania), Bill Grant (Grant Design Collaborative, National AIGA board president), and Amanda Otter (Threespot Media). This is a second award for Chimera vol. 3 team, following the book’s selection, among 4 other publications, as the “Best of Student–Published work in Any Category” for 2006 by the University and College Designers Association (UCDA).
